The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has started an investigation into various institutions that charge high prices from the public for PCR and Rapid Antigen test kits required for the detection of Covid-19 infection, reports say.

It is said that this investigation has been initiated based on several complaints received by the CID.

The purpose of this investigation is to identify the institutions that charge high prices for test kits worth around Rs. 1000 in the international market.

It is reported that these test kits have been imported by various institutions and they have not submitted reports to the government on how much test kits they have imported.
